I truly believe a yoga class is more than well planned party tricks. A great yoga sequence is just moves until it is paired with a great theme. Sequences move bodies. Themes move people. I love to share ideas, below you’ll find links to Teach This Theme suggestions. Take what fits your style. Be sure to add your own voice, your own spin! A great teacher is one who can take an idea and make it their own. Take these ideas. I hope they’ll work in your next class.

Each theme offers a question to ask before Savasana. I like to offer a “self-study” moment, Swadhyaya – the 4th Niyama. We are great at practicing Asanas and Pranayama! Trying to tie in the other limbs of yoga in a 60 minute class is not always easy. Especially for newer teachers who do not have the experience. But a question before the silence, in a safe space. That feels nonthreatening.
